Hi, I’m Laura and I’m so excited about starting a food blog of gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, and corn free recipes. I have always loved having people over and cooking for them. To me sitting down for a meal with family and friends is a very important aspect of life and allows us to share and commune with each other.
When I found out 3 years ago that all of my seemingly unconnected health issues were linked to certain foods, I was excited because I finally found out what was wrong with me, and devastated because how do I cook on such a limited list of foods?
“Gluten-free, sugar-free, corn-free, dairy-free, yeast-free…..food-free.”
My friend jokingly refers to me being on the “food free” diet…..she is gluten-free and I am “food-free”.
Goodbye chocolate. Goodbye comfort food.
At first I was so overwhelmed…..how do you make something without sugar…..and how many flours do I need to replace wheat flour?
Many of my first attemps were a flop as my husband and daughters can attest to, but through research and other allergy-ridden friends I discovered a variety of recipes and little know ingredients that I could use to enjoy foods and create meals I thought I had to give up. All I needed was a little ingenuity….and the internet.
Now that I am an empty nester I have decided to share my love of cooking with others.
My oldest daughter and her husband are on the Paleo diet and my youngest daughter and one of her roommates are vegan. So besides the gluten-free, sugar-free, corn-free, dairy-free, and yeast-free you will see some recipes that are Paleo friendly and vegan friendly.
