A couple weeks ago we had a freeze in Houston. Our grapefruit tree was still loaded down with grapefruit that we had to pick all at once. So I whipped up this fresh, tart grapefruit apple juice.
The recipe is very simple yet very refreshing. And it only has four ingredients: fresh grapefruit juice, apple juice, filtered water, and fresh sage leaves.
The apple juice sweetens it a little while the sage leaves give it a warm slightly musky flavor. Enjoy a glass of grapefruit apple juice with your breakfast or with a snack.
- 3 cups fresh grapefruit juice
- 1 and ½ cups apple juice - no sugar added
- 4 cups filtered water
- 4 - 6 leaves fresh sage
- Juice grapefruit.
- Pour grapefruit juice, apple juice, and filtered water in pitcher and stir.
- Add sage leaves.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.
